Masaledar Tadka Maggi

When we used to come back from school, we used to mostly eat rice and sambar which mom made in the afternoon.  We only saw the advertisement on TV about Maggi and assumed it was delicious as we didn't know how it tasted :)  But today when a child is back from school and says Mama I am hungry, the mother's would say Beta 2 minutes... and a bowl of Maggi is ready at the table!

At my home, we make Maggi Noodles once or twice in a month  and everyone wants to eat it piping hot... Once all of them are getting ready to be at the table for breakfast is when I quickly make it.

I sometimes make Maggi specially for friends at office on demand... I would heat it in the microwave before serving it.   It was a weekend just before we had our Diwali holidays. My friends said that they want to eat Maggi.. so we all made this plan and each one of us got the required ingredients and I made the Masaledar Tadka Maggi for around 15 of us in the Canteen Kitchen... We had good fun and everyone enjoyed this special dish cooked for them.

Have you ever heard of Maggi noodles with mustard seeds?  I have tried giving it a taste of traditional south Indian curry, and a twist to it by adding few more masala's to this dish.  While this crackling twist to masala Maggi is apt for all those who love to gorge on South Indian delicacies ...

Give it a try and I bet you will love this version... Don't forget to post me your feedback!

Ingredients :

Maggi Noddles - Double pack
1 Large Onion Finely Cut
1/4th Cup par boiled peas
1 Large Tomato finely cut
1/4th Cup finely cut carrots
Corriander leaves - 2 tbsp
Eastern Sambar Powder - 1 tbsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Pav Bhaji Masala - 1 tsp
Kanda Lasoon Masala- 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard Seeds
Water
Butter / Oil for cooking

Method :

In a wok or pan add oil and when it is hot, add the mustard seeds.  Add the onion and saute for a while till it is light brown.  To this add the tomatoes and other vegetables and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.  Slow the flame and add the sambar, pav bahji, kanda lasoon and garam masala and salt and saute well.  Now add enough water to this mixture.   Once the water boils, add the Maggi and the Maggi Masala and stir frequently.  I like my Maggi to be a bit soupy... Decorate with Corriander leaves Serve hot!

Tempting na... go ahead and try this style of cooking your Maggi which will also ensure that children will eat the Veggies in the dish!
