Kerala Prawns Curry

Fish
curry is a hot curry made with fish pieces & mixture of spices... this is a
very popular dish made in Kerala and served with steamed rice or Kappa
(Tapioca). This is prepared in Meen
Chatti or earthern pot.
I
am sharing Kerala Prawns Curry which is
also a favourite dish of my husband.
Ingredients :
250 gms Cleaned Prawns
Chilli Powder - 3 tbsp
Corriander Powder - 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
3 Cups water
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
Fenugreek (Methi) Powder - 1/2 tsp
Kokam - 2 to 3
Tomato Cut into pieces - 2
Curry leaves
Salt
Mustard Seeds
Coconut Oil
Method :
Clean the Prawns and add little salt and turmeric
and keep aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
Make a thick paste of Chilli powder, Corriander Powder & Turmeric
Powder. In the meen chatti or deep pan,
add oil and when the oil is hot add mustard seeds. Add the ginger garlic paste and saute for
some time. Add the thick paste prepared
to this mixture and saute, add the tomato pieces and cook for some time. Now you may add the Prawns and 2 cups of
water and soaked Kokum, salt, curry leaves, fenugreek powder and cook for
around 10 minutes.
Serve hot with steamed rice...
