Chocolate Donuts - Home made
I
made Donuts the first time and it was not up to the mark. I made it the second time, and there was some
improvement. I made this the 3rd time
today and it turned out to be great!
Will try again to make it the best the next time :)
Several
attempts made this dish perfect. These
are some of my learnings....Never hurry when you make this dish as it takes
time for making the batter and allowing it to rest for around 1 to 2 hours so
that the batter will rise up to double the quantity. The other important point to note is
measurements... if they are not followed, high chances that your dish will not
be up to the mark.
I
made the batter in the morning and made the Donuts in the afternoon. By the time, kids were back, the Crispy ,
soft and tasty Donuts were ready to eat.
Ingredients
:
Maida
- 250 gm
Powdered
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Salt
- 1/2 tsp
Dry
Yeast - 1 tsp
Water
- 1/4th cup
Milk
- 125 ml
Butter
- 2 tbsp
Oil
for Frying
Hersheys
Chocolate Syrup
Method:
Take
1/4th cup luke warm water and add sugar and dry yeast and mix well and keep
aside for 5 minutes. Mix the Maida and salt and sift the flour in a strainer. Add the Yeast and milk and make a soft
dough. You need to knead this dough for
around 5 to 7 minutes by adding the butter.
Keep this dough covered for around 2 hours. It will rise to double the quantity.
Make
1/2 inch thick roti and use a round shaped vessel / katori to cut the donuts
and use a small bottle cap to make a hole in this round shaped donut. Grease a tray with butter and keep all the
donuts on the tray and brush it with butter and keep for around 10 to 15
minutes. This will rise up. Heat the Oil on high flame and once the oil
is hot, low the flame and fry the donuts till they are golden brown. You will see that they are puffy and crispy.
Decorate
this with Hersheys Chocolate Syrup and serve hot!
