Crispy Sabudana Wada
We
used to visit our Grandparents and other family back home in Kerala during the
Summer Vacations...
My
father always packed 2 ingredients Sabudana or Sago Rice and Groundnuts while
packing the luggage. He used to make
these crispy crunchy Wada's which melted in the mouth. This was a new dish introduced by my father to
all our relatives in Kerala.
Every one enjoyed this traditional deep fried snack
of Maharashtra which was served with Green Chutney or Coconut Chutney.
It was
Mahashivratri yesterday and I made this popular dish which is served during fasting.
A quick glance at how this dish is prepared
Ingredients :
Sabudana - 2 cups
Crushed green chillies - 2 tbsp
Groundnut Powder - 1 cup
Raw Potato washed peeled and grated - 1/2 cup
Green Corriander leaves - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ghee + Oil - for deep frying
Method :
Wash the Sabudana and soak it with very little water for
around 3 hours. If you add lot of water
the dough will stick to your hands. Mix
all other ingredients up to salt and make a dough. Make lemon size balls and pat them like
tikki. Deep fry this till golden
brown. You may serve this with Curd or
Coconut Chutney.
