The best way to get the kids eat vegetables is to make

make. You can have it for your breakfast

This small
tiny looking vegetable is soft and delicious to eat! Green peas are a powerhouse of nutrients that
benefit your body in many ways... There
are healthy and you can make many yummy dishes with this vegetable.
Matar or Peas Paratha is Wheat
roti stuffed with mashed Peas and spices.. While making this Paratha, I peeled
the Peas, washed them and coarsely ground them in mixer before stir frying and
cooking it to make the filling.
This is the first time I tried
making these Paratha's and they turned out to be very soft and tasty! There was some stuffing left, with which I
made mini Samosa's for children in the evening.
Ingredients :
For the dough :
Wheat Flour (2 Cups)
Oil for the dough 1 tbsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1/2 tsp
Oil / Ghee for frying
Water for kneading
Method :
Mix all the ingredients and knead
by adding enough water to make a firm dough and keep it aside covered for 10 to
15 minutes. Divide them into 10 to 12
equal round portions. Flatten each
portion and put the below stuffing roll out thick paratha's and cook on hot
tawa till they are golden brown.
For the stuffing
Fresh green peas - 1 cup (Coarsely
ground)
Ginger & Garlic paste - 1 tsp each
Green chilly paste - 1 tbsp
Oil- 1 tbsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Jeera (Cumin powder) - 1tsp
Salt and sugar to taste
Besan (Gram flour) - 2 tbsp
Fresh grated coconut - 2 tbsp
Coarsely powdered groundnut - 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander - 2 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Method :
Coarsely ground the Green Peas. Heat the oil and add ginger & garlic
paste and green chilly paste and the ground green peas. Stir fry this till the mixture is cooked and
dry. Add all other ingredients and allow
to cool.
Make small balls of this filling which then I stuffed
in the wheat roti and rolled them into thick paratha's and shallow fry them
using ghee / oil on low flame till both the sides are golden brown. Serve hot Paratha's with Chutney, Raita or
curd and pickle.
