Chole Chaat

Recently at the office canteen, I tasted the Chana Chaat and thought I could make something similar and much more tastier at home :).

There are these days when I plan to cook something different than the normal Roti, Sabji especially during the weekends... These days the IPL fever is on and rather than getting the packed chips and Pepsi,  thought of making something healthy for the family!

I had been planning to make Chole Chaat and finally made it.  This was accompanied with Mixed Veg Soup, which I used to make during the GM diet days :) and Tawa Adraki Palak Kebab..

Ria would never eat Chole curry if it was made with Paratha or Puri... I was surprised when she asked for the second serving  of the Chole chaat :)

Chole - boiled white chickpeas is what I used to make this Dish.  I made it with a twist wherein I used Mango Sweet Chunda and Chitale Bakarwadi, Green Chutney, topped with chopped onions, tomatoes,. and other masala for garnishing

Are you ready to note down the recipe...??

Ingredients:

Serves 4

Cooked Chole -Chickpeas (Soaked for 5 to 6 hours before cooking) - 250 gm
Chitale Bakarwadi - 10 to12  pieces crushed
Onion - 1/2 cup
Tomato - 1
Spicy Green Chutney -6 to 7 tbsp
Chaat Masala - as per taste
Sweet Mango Chunda - 3 to 5 tbsp
Amchur Powder - as per taste
Boiled and Mashed Potato - 1
Salt to taste
Corrainder leaves

Method:

Cook Chole for 10 to 15 minutes in a cooker till they are soft.  Mash it with a spoon. Add onion, Tomato, chutney, mango chunda, amchur powder, chaat masala, mashed potatoes and mix well.  Garnish with Crushed bakarwadi, coriander leaves, green chutney and chunda and serve. Enjoy and do leave your comments and feedback!
