Cornflakes Pakoda

Plain Cornflakes with fruits and nuts, milk and honey is a perfect and filling breakfast when you feel lazy and don't want to cook something in the morning...

I like Cornflakes (Makai) in the Chivda form and it is the perfect evening snack... I could munch on this for hours :).

Yesterday, we went to Satara for a Munja ceremony of Anirudha Phadke (Rahul Phadke's son) a close friend of my husband, Rajesh.    It was a good trip and we got to meet new people and took part in the ceremony and enjoyed the lunch.

When we were about to leave, Manisha Vahini (Rahul's wife), handed over Makai Chiwda and Motichoor ladoos and a gift as part of the ceremony.. We carried it home and I was munching on the Chiwda in the evening for chai today.

I had made Cornflakes Pakoda's in my Kitchen and would like share with you the simple recipe to make this quick snack for your tea time!

Ingredients :

1 cup Cornflakes
1/2 cup maida.
1 or 2 tspn. Tomato sauce / tomato soup powder
1/4 tspn. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp garam Masala
1/4th tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Water or milk for batter
Oil for deep frying.

Method :

Mix all the ingredients with water or milk. Heat kadhai and pour oil in it. With the help of a spoon or with your hands, drop this mixture into the hot oil and fry this till the colour changes.   Garma Garam Cornflakes Pakoda is ready to be served with Green chutney or Tomato Sauce and tastes best with a cup of hot Tea.

A quick note.. Once you add the Cornflakes.. make the pakoda's immediately otherwise they will get soggy and will not turn out to be crispy !
