Corn Kebabs

Rainy season is the best time to enjoy Corn Bhutta's - roasted corn on the cob flavored with lime, salt and chilli powder....I remember my college days, when we had gone for a picnic to Lonavala... It was drizzling and we all were enjoying the showers... Outside the resort, there was an old man selling Bhutta's... he made good business that day as most of us ordered one Bhutta and enjoyed eating it in that weather!

I get corn from the market and roast it in the similar way as my daughter enjoys eating corn roasted this way :).

There are several dishes that you can make using Corn.... I made Corn Kebabs which is a great snack for tea time!

Take a note of the recipe and do treat your family and friends with this quick and simple recipe.

Ingredients :

1/2 cup yellow corn kernels
1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
1 1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
3 tsp rice flour
1 tsp Garam Masala (optional)
Salt to taste
Oil

Method:

Blend the corn in a blender / mixer to a coarse paste, without using any water. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the capsicum, green chillies, rice flour and salt, garam masala and mix well. Divide this mixture into 7 to 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round shape press the rounds lightly to make flat kebabs.

Apply little oil on non stick tawa and when it is hot, place the Kebabs and shallow fry the kebabs till both sides of the kebabs change colour.  Serve this with green chutney!
