Corn Kebabs
Rainy season is the best time
to enjoy Corn Bhutta's - roasted corn on the cob flavored with lime, salt and chilli
powder....I remember my college days, when we had gone for a picnic to
Lonavala... It was drizzling and we all were enjoying the showers... Outside
the resort, there was an old man selling Bhutta's... he made good business that
day as most of us ordered one Bhutta and enjoyed eating it in that weather!
I get corn from the market and
roast it in the similar way as my daughter enjoys eating corn roasted this way
:).
There are several dishes that you can
make using Corn.... I made Corn Kebabs which is a great snack for tea time!
Take a note of the recipe and do
treat your family and friends with this quick and simple recipe.
Ingredients :
1/2 cup yellow corn kernels
1/4 cup finely chopped
capsicum
1 1/2 tsp finely chopped green
chillies
3 tsp rice flour
1 tsp Garam Masala (optional)
Salt to taste
Oil
Method:
Blend the corn in a blender /
mixer to a coarse paste, without using any water. Transfer the mixture to a
bowl and add the capsicum, green chillies, rice flour and salt, garam masala
and mix well. Divide this mixture into 7 to 12 equal portions. Shape each
portion into a round shape press the rounds lightly to make flat kebabs.
Apply little oil on non stick
tawa and when it is hot, place the Kebabs and shallow fry the kebabs till both
sides of the kebabs change colour. Serve
this with green chutney!
