Instant Rava Medu Wada
One way of feeding my daughter with Veggies is by making
cutlets / Wada's etc. I tried making
Rava Cutlets recently and packed it for my daughter's Tiffin. All her friends
and she enjoyed the dish... My friends also said very innovative dish :). Will soon post the recipe ...
Rava Medu Wada is a dish that you will find on the Udupi
Restaurant Menu.. Very crispy and tasty... this goes well with spicy green
chutney and Sambar! The best part of
making this dish is that it does not require any grinding and can be made
instantly with few ingredients available in the kitchen!
So next time, your family wants to eat Medu Wada for breakfast
or snacks, you can very well fulfill their wish by quickly following this
simple recipe...

Ingredients :
Semolina (Rava) - 1 Cup
Yoghurt (Curd) - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Pepper powder & Cumin seeds
(Jeera) - 1/4 tsp each
Finely chopped Onion - 1
large
Finely chopped Chillies - 1
or 2
Finely chopped Ginger - 1
piece
Chopped curry leaves - 1
string
Chopped coriander leaves - a
handful
Water if9 required
Soda - 1/4 tsp
Oil for deep frying
Method:
In a bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well to a smooth
mixture. Allow it to rest for 20
minutes. If the batter is thick, you may
add some water and give it the consistency like Udid Wada batter. Heat the oil
in a Kadai. Now wet your palm and put a
ball of this mixture on the palm and with the help of the thumb make a hole and
slowly & gently transfer the Wada in
the hot oil. Repeat for the next batch
and deep fry the Wada on low flame till they are golden brown in colour...
Enjoy the Crispy Wada with spicy green chutney & Sambar.
