this out. It takes
no hard efforts to make this tempting kheer and can be made easily and instantly! You can prepare Poha kheer for any occasion or
festival or whenever you have cravings for sweet.
Time to note down the recipe with
the step-by-step method and pictures.. Make it for your family and
friends and impress your dear ones. Enjoy!
Ingredients :
Poha - 1.5 cups
Sugar - 1.5 (you can adjust the sweetness)
Cashews - A handful
Raisins -
15 to 20 nos
Pistachios - 10-15 (slice thinly)
Chironji - 1 tbsp
Green
cardamom - 4 (peel and make powder)
Full cream milk - 1 Liter
Ghee 2 tbsp
A pinch of salt
Method :
In a
Kadai, add 1 tbsp of Ghee and fry the Cashews and Raisins and keep them aside. Ensure it is not burnt and only the colour
should change. In the same Kadai on a
low flame, roast the Poha and keep it aside.
Take milk
in any vessel with heavy base and place it on flame to simmer. When you see
gentle boil in the milk, add Poha and mix gently. Keep the flame low and stir
at regular intervals for 2 to 3 minutes to prevent browning at the base. Let it simmer until the Poha puffs up and is
nicely blended in the milk. Now add the sugar and Chironji and stir it at
regular intervals. Add the friend and chopped
dry fruits to the kheer and mix well. Let the kheer simmer until it gets thick
and dense in consistency. Stir at regular intervals.
Now mix cardamom powder to the kheer. Add a pinch of salt and mix well... Add 1 tsp
of ghee in the Kheer and put off the flame. It takes just 15 minutes to prepare the kheer.
Your delicious Poha kheer is now done
and ready, turn off the flame and transfer to another bowl.
Garnish
with some chopped dry fruits and serve warm or chilled. Enjoy! Do let me know your valuable feedback and
comments!
