Phutana Dal Ladoo - Healthy & can be enjoyed by Diabetics too!
I received few requests from my
readers to post some recipes which can
be enjoyed by Diabetics... This post is specially for Mr. Srinivasa Reddy &
Mr. Joseph Paulson... I must thank both
of you for your valuable comments & words of appreciation! I would be posting few other dishes
shortly... but thought of sharing a sweet dish which you can definitely enjoy!
There is a misconception
that if you are a diabetic, you’ll have to skip dessert forever... With a little planning, and
controlling your food habits you can satisfy your sweet tooth while keeping your blood
sugar under control. Few things
to remember, as soon as you get up don't have that "Bed Tea / Coffee"
that is very dear to you... try switching to Green Smoothie to start your
morning... this is alkaline, gives wonderful vitamins, minerals enzymes. If you are addicted to your tea / coffee,
switch to herbal tea or black coffee instead without sugar. Totally stop taking
milk & milk products.
Try and eat loads of green vegetables / sprouts
and have your meals every 2 hours... I have been eating every 2 hours and I
observed that most of the acidity problems, digestion problems vanish with this
habit. The other best reason is having
your meals with breaks ensures that you
are not over eating :). Very important
is to also exercise (must admit to you that I need to strictly start doing some
exercise!).
If you have a sweet tooth and want to make
something ... mix the below ingredients and made these healthy Ladoos in just
10 minutes... Enjoy!!!
Ingredients:
Phutana / Chana - 1
bowl
Fresh Grated Coconut -
1 bowl
Dates (Khajoor) - 1/2
bowl (I used 1 cup to add more sweet to the dish)
Pista / Almonds /
Poppy seeds / Raisins to garnish
Method :
Grind the Phutana / Chana to a
flour consistency. Add the coconut and
the dates and grind this further. You may add Pista / Almond / Raisins/ Poppy
Seeds and make Ladoos. I made around 15
medium Ladoos .
