Spiced Buttermilk / Masala Chaas
Hi Folks... I have been really busy and did not get time to
blog for quite some time...am back with a quick and simple drink that will
refresh you.
Even though it is the monsoon season, the climate in Pune is
pretty hot and we all look forward to good rains which will definitely bring some relief after the long summer season!!
Today, let me share with you a refreshing summer coolant i.e. Spiced Buttermilk or Masala Chaas. It
is a spicy version of buttermilk prepared with fresh herbs and rock salt.. This will also help with digestion after a
heavy meal...
Let us see how to make to this simple refreshing drink...
Ingredients :
Thick Yoghurt / Curd - 250 gms
Cold Water - 2 glass
Green Chilli - 1
Few Pudina leaves
Roasted Cumin seeds / Cumin Seed
Powder - 1 tsp
Rock Salt & normal salt as per
taste
Rose water - few drops
Cumin powder, Pudina leaves &
coriander leaves for garnishing
Method :
In a mixer / grinder add the Pudina
leaves, cumin seeds / powder, green chilli and some water & grind
coarsely. To this mixture, add the thick
yoghurt & cold water and blend well. Transfer to a bowl add enough water as
this should be a drinking consistency. Add few drops of rose water and mix well
and check the salt level. Pour the refreshing drink into tall glass, garnish with
cumin powder, Pudina & coriander leaves... Enjoy the drink and do share
