Mint Potato Rolls
Winter has set in and in this
season we all love to eat fried snack with our cup of tea!
The consumption of fried foods
in moderation and in the right manner can help you build your immunity during
monsoon/winter season, where the chances of immunity drop are higher due to the
lack of enough calorie intake or outdoor physical activities. Fried food is something that we all enjoy
with an added guilty pleasure to it. Do we like it? Well, we love to gorge on
to deep fried crispy snacks, although we hate to admit it because of the overly
hyped clean eating and healthy lifestyle movements happening around us.
Nowadays, for most of us, counting calories and discussing weight loss has
become second nature and avoiding oily or high-calorie food has become our natural
response. But I guess, as an
occasional or seasonal treat, home-fried foods have a place in our healthy diet
plans.
I recently made Mint Potato
Rolls... They are crispy on the outside, and soft and spicy and bursting with
awesome flavors from inside. The spicy potato stuffing makes it a tempting and
a delicious tea-time snack...Your kids will love them and it is an ideal snack
that you can pack for their brunch.
These stuffed bread rolls are very
simple to make, crisp and delicious. I guarantee you that they won’t last long
once they are out of the pan!
Ingredients :
Potatoes - 3 large (boiled
and mashed)
Grated ginger & garlic - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1 to 1.5 tsp
(you can adjust this according to your taste)
Salt to taste
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Amchur Powder - 1/4 tsp
Butter - 1 to 2 tbsp
Green Chutney - Coriander
leaves, Mint leaves, Chillies & 1 tsp lime juice (grind without water)
White bread - 8 to 12 slices
Water
Oil to deep fry
Method :
Mash the cooked Potatoes. Add the grated ginger & garlic, salt,
garam masala, amchur powder, green chutney and the butter to the mashed potato
and mix well. Cut the edges of the bread
and keep aside. You can use the edges to
make bread crumbs and use them later for making snacks.
Gently dip the bread in
water and squeeze out all the water.
Make long rolls of the potato stuffing and place in the middle of the
bread slice and give a shape of roll.
Make all other rolls in the similar way.
Heat the oil and deep fry all the rolls and serve them with Green
chutney & sauce.
While you enjoy the snack,
don't forget to write a feedback, like, share this recipe with your near and
dear ones!
