Healthy Beetroot Paratha
I am sure
all mother's face problems to feed their kids with Vegetables. My kids are also very fussy when it comes to
eating vegetables. They would never eat
Beetroots if I did not make paratha's :)
This is a
very healthy breakfast and can also be consumed for lunch or dinner. Hope you will enjoy making them for your
family as much I as did!
Time to jot
down the ingredients and methods to make these healthy paratha’s!!
Ingredients:
Wheat Flour : 2
cups
Beetroot – 1
large or 2 medium (steamed and grated)
Ginger – 1 inch
Garlic – 5 to 6
cloves
Green Chillies –
2 to 3 (add according to your taste)
Ajwain (Carom
seeds) – 1 tsp
Garam masala ½ tbsp.
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Oil / butter /
ghee for cooking and kneading
Method:
Clean the
beetroot and wash it well. Grate it and steam it in cooker. Puree this in a
mixer jar with ginger, garlic and green chillies. Add this mixture to the wheat
flour.
Add in
ajwain, garam masala, salt and finely chopped coriander leaves, salt, oil and
knead this to a soft dough. You may require to add very little water to the
dough while kneading. Rest this dough for around 20 minutes. Pinch in a small
size ball from the dough and roll them into thin circle like paratha with the
help of some wheat flour.
Heat a tawa
and place the rolled paratha and cook on both sides by applying oil / ghee /
butter till both sides are cooked well. Serve paratha with curd, pickle and
green chutney!
