Ingredients :
Ā§ Ā¼
cup ghee
Ā§ Ā¾
cup milk
Ā§ 2Ā½
cup milk powder (I used Everyday Milk Powder Brand)
Ā§ Ā½
cup sugar
Ā§ Ā¼
tsp cardamom powder / Elaichi powder
Ā§ 2
tbsp almonds, chopped
Ā§ 2
tbsp pistachios, chopped
Method :
Take a large Kadai
and add in Ā¼ cup ghee and Ā¾ cup milk.
Keep the flame on low add in 2Ā½ cup milk
powder. Add Ā½ cup sugar and mix well making sure everything is combined well.
You need to stir this
continuously keeping the flame on low and ensure that no lumps are formed and
the sugar also dissolves. Keep stirring
the mixture on low flame till the milk thickens. This mixture forms a dough
after stirring for 10 minutes. Do not overcook
as the Burfi will turn chewy. To this
dough quickly add Ā¼ tsp cardamom powder and combine well. Transfer the prepared
dough into a greased plate lined with baking paper. (I set this in a silver
foil). Set this well forming a block. Top
it with few chopped almonds and pistachios and press slightly. Allow this to set for 2 hours, or till it
sets completely.
It's time to now time to unmold the delicious Burfi and cut them into pieces. You may store them in airtight container if not using immediately.
