Crispy Semolina Finger Chips
It was a Sunday evening and I was
busy baking a cake and had almost finished the icing and while I was cleaning
the kitchen, my daughter called out to me and said Amma, I am hungry make
something nice for me and my friends... Her friends had come to play with her
that evening.
I told her it would take some time
for me to make something to eat for her.
While she was busy playing with her friends, I quickly started making a
snack which I had jotted down from one of the recipe books... I made crispy
semolina potato finger chips... Kids enjoyed the chips with mayo & tomato
sauce. When I gave some to my husband he
said oh it's fried stuff I just want 1
or 2 pieces... after eating 2 pieces he again walks into the kitchen and said I
was joooooooking... can I get some more of the chips... Once in a while it's
okay to eat junk food :).
I friend few more chips and they
all enjoyed them piping hot.... I am sure you will also try and make this dish
and get applauds from your family & friends.
Let's get to the recipe...
Ingredients :
Boiled
Potatoes mashed : 2
Semolina
/ Rava - 1 cup
Water -
1 cup
Salt to
taste
Chaat
Masala - 1.5 tsp
Oil to deep
fry
Method :
Take a pan and add water. Once the water boils add in salt and chaat
masala 1 tsp. Add the Semolina and cook
till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan and forms a dough. Remove from flame and keep it aside. Add in the mashed potatoes to the cooked Semolina. Add enough salt and remaining chaat masala
and knead to a soft dough. Take a
plastic paper and transfer the dough and roll it like a thick roti. Cut into thin strips like potato and deep fry
in oil till golden brown. You may
sprinkle mixed herbs, chaat masala to this mixture and enjoy it with your
favourite dip.

for your evening snack or as starters for your party!!
